Since we are far away from home, Thanksgiving holiday doesn't really exist.
SO, this year we decided to have Thanksgiving on Saturday with some friends, to enjoy a little longer day, rather than on Thursday right after school for a couple hours. BuT, Adam got sick Friday night. Instead of a few friends to celebrate with, we just had our family. And, it was alright. We had a very enjoyable day and didn't stress about anything. Even Adam got to enjoy the meal from a distance (thanks to daddy's thoughtful furniture rearrangement). We saved him a big plate to enjoy later . . .
and he did, all the next week . . . when he finally felt better.

Thanks for the pictures of your Thanksgiving Day. Adam, I am glad you are feeling better now. It's no fun to be sick especially when Mom has just cooked a wonderfully delicious meal!

Was it weird having everyone in school on Thanksgiving? What did you all have to eat?
ReplyDeleteyes Carrie. It didn't feel like Thanksgiving at all on Thanksgiving . . . but the dinner was just as much a Thanksgiving dinner as it is in the states - turkey, potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoe pudding, homemade rolls and pie and cranberry sauce (homemade because you can't find the canned stuff here (sorry Dave)) - yum! The only thing missing was more people to share it with. Oh well. Maybe next year.
