Just the family for Thanksgiving

Since we are far away from home, Thanksgiving holiday doesn't really exist.
SO, this year we decided to have Thanksgiving on Saturday with some friends, to enjoy a little longer day, rather than on Thursday right after school for a couple hours. BuT, Adam got sick Friday night. Instead of a few friends to celebrate with, we just had our family. And, it was alright. We had a very enjoyable day and didn't stress about anything. Even Adam got to enjoy the meal from a distance (thanks to daddy's thoughtful furniture rearrangement). We saved him a big plate to enjoy later . . .
and he did, all the next week . . . when he finally felt better.

  1. Thanks for the pictures of your Thanksgiving Day. Adam, I am glad you are feeling better now. It's no fun to be sick especially when Mom has just cooked a wonderfully delicious meal!
    Love you all,
    Mom/Grammie

  2. Was it weird having everyone in school on Thanksgiving? What did you all have to eat?

  3. yes Carrie. It didn't feel like Thanksgiving at all on Thanksgiving . . . but the dinner was just as much a Thanksgiving dinner as it is in the states - turkey, potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoe pudding, homemade rolls and pie and cranberry sauce (homemade because you can't find the canned stuff here (sorry Dave)) - yum! The only thing missing was more people to share it with. Oh well. Maybe next year.
